Things to Do to Get Reading For Kindergarten:
1. Practice ABC flashcards. Work on letter names and sounds.
2. Practice writing your name with a capital at the beginning and the rest lowercase letters.
3. Practice counting and writing to 10.
4. Practice using scissors.
5. Practicing sitting still and listening to stories.

Here is a list of supplies that your child will need for first grade.
-erasers (bar type)
-4 glue sticks
-48 pencils (yellow #2. Please no plastic wrapped pencils. They damage our pencil sharpeners. Pencils need to be replaced throughout the year.
-scissors (Fiskars blunt type)
-supply box (The size of a cigar box)
-2 boxes of tissues
-2 rolls of paper towels
-2 boxes of crayons (box of 24 size)
-school bag; NO WHEELS
-2 old clean socks (We use them as erasers on our wipe-off boards)
-NO pencils sharpeners
-1 box of baby wipes
-1 box of gallon size Ziploc bags
-1 box of sandwich size Ziploc bags
-1 green Poly-Plastic folder w/ fasteners; (To use for reading log)
-2 red and 2 green 2-pocket folders w/ fasteners

-A POST CARD WILL BE SENT TO YOUR CHILD BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS WITH THE FOLLOWING: STARTING TIME, BUS NUMBER, TEACHER'S NAME AND ROOM#.
-NO FLIP FLOPS ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING ALL YEAR PLEASE PUT YOUR CHILD'S NAME ON ALL SCHOOL SUPPLIES WITH A PERMANENT MARKER, ALSO ON THEIR LUNCH BAG/BOX.
