Warrior Reading

A Reading Warrior always rises to a new challenge. The Reading Warriors Summer Challenge is an opportunity to explore new lands through books, to establish a reading territory and defend the right to read. Research says that students who participate in summer reading retain knowledge learned during the previous school year.

Here at Goshen Middle School we are requiring our students to complete this reading challenge. All students are to read 2 books this summer. One book will be given to your child with a grade level assignment; the other must be based on their Scholastic Reading Level and certain grade level requirements (incoming 6th grade-150+ pages, incoming 7th grade–175+, incoming 8th grade-200+) with activities to complete. The assignments are due August 23, 2013, and should be turned in to your child’s Language Arts teacher. These assignments will be graded and added to your child’s first quarter grade. There will also be an assessment the first full week of school on the required book.

Look for the book, assignment packet, and more information to come home the week of May 20th - 24th.

READ a great book this summer!
