MC Summer Reading student program

Hello, parents! You are about to take part in the new Marr/Cook Go Green! Summer Reading Program. A strong reader has a tremendous advantage as they continue their journey through Goshen Local Schools.

In years past, your child's teacher has sent home large packets of paper with reading materials, worksheets and literacy tips.

With our new summer reading program, we offer parents the opportunity to engage children with a fantastic literacy-building program while reducing our carbon footprint by hosting the entire program online!

The program begins when you choose a book to watch with your child. You will hear a MC staff member read the book while viewing the art from the book. Below the video you will find writing prompts. Use the login information sent home with your child to add comments.

Your child will have the opportunity to work on their literacy skills while communicating with teachers and classmates. We cannot wait to hear from you!

As you and your child watch the stories, be sure to visit the parent resources area. You will find worksheets, graphic organizers and other materials to help you better engage your young reader. The parent resources area also provides powerful tips for literacy-building, student engagement, and vocabulary that will help you communicate with teachers about your child's reading skills.
