Three Goshen Middle School students recently won cash awards for their artwork entered in the annual Goshen Lions Club art contest.

Eighth grader Cassidy Ashcraft (far right in photo) took the top prize in the local competition of the Lions International Peace Poster contest. Her entry will now move on to state level competition. GMS seventh grader Lillian Larkin took second place and eighth grader Danielle Childs took third place.

These posters were among thousands of entries submitted worldwide in the 35th annual Lions International Peace Poster Contest. Lions Clubs International is sponsoring the contest to emphasize the importance of world peace to young people everywhere.

The winning posters were selected by members of the Goshen Lions Club for their originality, artistic merit, and portrayal of the contest theme. Judging was held at the Lions Club monthly meeting.
