Goshen Local Schools celebrated the importance of local business partnerships at their Business Advisory Council breakfast on Feb. 28, 2024 at the Goshen High School Auditorium. 

More than 120 partners from educational institutions, businesses, and community organizations gathered to foster collaboration and celebrate achievements. The agenda featured a networking session and breakfast, providing attendees with an opportunity to connect and engage. 

Pat Dubbs, Goshen Director of Secondary Curriculum and College/Career Readiness, opened the event and Superintendent Brian Bailey highlighted the council's accomplishments. Goshen Education Foundation representatives Chelsie Hornsby and Darrell Edwards thanked those in attendance for supporting educational initiatives within the community.

Dubbs provided an update on the district's College and Career Readiness initiatives, showcasing student experiences across the district:

  • "Findlay Around Goshen" Initiative: Students embarked on a captivating journey inspired by the Findlay mascot, exploring local businesses and gaining insights into different career paths.
  • Shark Tank Project: Middle school students participated in an entrepreneurial project, developing business ideas and receiving feedback from industry professionals.
  • Spaulding Elementary Career Exploration: Students engaged in online career exploration activities with the help of a virtual character named Paws the dog, gaining exposure to various professions in an interactive and engaging way.
  • Home Builders Association (HBA) and CAP Programs: High school students engaged in hands-on learning experiences in home design and construction, leading to job offers from industry professionals.

Several organizations were recognized for their unwavering support of Goshen Local Schools:

  • VEGA Americas: Acknowledged for their significant contributions to enhancing educational experiences.
  • Junior Achievement of OKI Partners | Western Ohio: Recognized for their dedication to equipping students with vital life skills.
  • Cincinnati Air Conditioning Company: Honored for providing invaluable opportunities for student engagement and learning.
  • Clermont County Library: Special recognition was given to Cristy Mack for her contributions to enhancing educational experiences within the Goshen community.
