pizza boxes

Starting Jan. 15, Goshen high schoolers will have the option to grab a nutritious personal pizza for lunch, baked fresh right in the GHS kitchen!

The Goshen Food Services Dept. will begin offering Smart Mouth pizzas as a meal option for students in grades 9-12. Fresh made in a newly-installed pizza oven, the pizza is restaurant quality and meets the Ohio Dept. of Education nutritional requirements for student lunches. Plus, if taken as part of a complete meal, the pizza is free to all.

Students can select from two types, cheese (available daily) and a specialty pizza, which could be pepperoni, combo, veggie or even buffalo chicken, depending on the day.

Food Services Director Brooke Huhn said she and her staff are excited for students to taste this new offering. She said she also hopes that this fresh menu item will prompt more students to take advantage of free lunches through the Community Eligibility Provision Goshen was awarded this school year.

The CEP program allows schools and districts with high poverty rates to provide free breakfast and lunch to all enrolled students.

The Smart Mouth personal pan pizza counts as a free lunch when it is combined with the choice of one fruit or one vegetable.
